Boost™: Nutrient-Rich, Fermented Whole-Food Supplement
Boost™ is a fermented, 100% food-based supplement designed to provide the daily needs of fermented material in a species-appropriate diet. It is not designed to replace synthetic vitamins or mineral supplements.
Our veterinarian, Dr. Ian Billinghurst, emphasizes that non-food (or synthetic) sources of vitamins are not replacements when a properly constructed species-appropriate diet is in place. At Gussy’s Gut®, we believe in quality, nutrient-dense foods. Our supplements focus on providing the “top of the pyramid” nutrition, and this is what we do best.

Why We Don’t Standardize Boost™
Boost™ is made from whole foods—superfoods, fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Nutrient content naturally varies due to factors like:
Season and harvest time
Farm and region where ingredients are grown
Because of this, we cannot offer exact mg or mcg values for each nutrient. For minerals and other nutrients required on labels (like copper, phosphorus, iodine), please visit: gussysgut.com/nutrients.
Why this is a good thing:
Standardized ingredients guarantee a fixed amount of certain compounds, often processed in large lab vats rather than whole foods. Boost™ provides real, nutrient-dense whole foods, which we believe are superior for long-term health.
Nutritional Philosophy
Dr. Billinghurst focuses on “perfection over time” rather than measuring every nutrient precisely. The only exception is if your veterinarian recommends a standardized or synthetic nutraceutical to ensure a minimum guaranteed dose. Otherwise, our whole-food approach supports:
Beautifully healthy pets
Vitality and longevity
Nutrient-dense, natural supplementation without synthetic additives
