Can I Replace My Enzymes with Gussy’s Gut®?Updated 8 days ago

Can I Replace My Enzymes with Gussy’s Gut®?

This is a great question and one we will answer with a bit of nuance. The short answer is no, you do not replace digestive enzymes with Gussy's Gut products.

Digestive Enzymes vs. Enzymatically Activated During Fermentation

During the fermentation process, the plants that we ferment are enzymatically activated.

“Enzymatically activated” refers to the role of enzymes in catalyzing and speeding up the chemical reactions that occur during fermentation. Enzymes are biological molecules, typically proteins, that act as catalysts. In the context of fermentation, they help break down complex molecules, such as carbohydrates, into simpler molecules, like sugars and alcohols.

Digestive enzymes given to our pets have specific jobs. Some break down proteins, some fats, some plant fiber/cellulose, etc. These are different enzymes to aid in the work of digestion.

Ask your vet if your pet needs digestive enzymes. Some pets don't need them at all. Their stomach acid may be plenty adept at breaking down their food. Your vet can advise you on that.
