With countless "labels" and certifications available, we’ve evaluated them all—and found that none hold us to a standard higher than the one we’ve set for ourselves. At Gussy’s Gut, we’ve established the most rigorous standards for organic, human-grade pet supplements, surpassing even the strictest industry benchmarks.

We ensure every ingredient in our supplements is clean, safe, and pure. Here’s how we do it: We source only human-grade ingredients from trusted suppliers—the same ones in many cases that stock organic health food store produce isles at Whole Foods, where Americans shop daily to feed their families. Every ingredient meets, at minimum, strict organic certifications, and often exceeds them with practices like biodynamic and regenerative farming.

Our sourcing begins with organic American farms, prioritizing quality and seasonality. Depending on crop conditions—such as heavy rain seasons—or ingredient availability, we adapt thoughtfully. If needed, we expand to North American organic farms next. Rarely, and only when absolutely necessary to ensure year-round supply for our customers, we source from certified organic farms abroad—like Germany and Italy.  

Here's an example of going beyond organic sourcing.  We source our GutAbles treats pork from what many believe to be highest quality and cleanest heritage on the planet, White Oak Pastures in Georgia.  As a Savory Institute hub, they set the standard for regenerative ranching, using no pesticides or herbicides. Their livestock production system, designed by Temple Grandin, is a global model for humane animal care and treatment. While their practices exceed organic standards, they choose not to pursue organic certification, believing their commitment to quality surpasses those requirements.

Here's an example of overseas sourcing.  Organic decaffeinated green tea for one of our products is not grown anywhere in the USA.  It is only grown in China.  There is literally no organic green tea sold in the USA that is not grown in China.  We believe in small amounts, it's very valuable to add to our formula.  We also believe not every farm in China is bad. So we set standards that must be met.  We also double verify their certificate of analysis they provide and conduct rigorous third party testing on our batches.
