Understanding Diarrhea When Feeding Gussy’s Gut®

It’s not uncommon for some dogs to experience diarrhea as their gut microbiome adjusts to new foods or supplements like Gussy's Gut. According to Dr. Ian Billinghurst, this is usually temporary and not a cause for alarm.

It can actually be a good thing!  It can mean your dog’s microbiome is shifting for the better, and that is what you want!

Remember:

• Most dogs adjust within 2–5 days if diarrhea occurs.

• The gut can take up to 90 days for some dogs to fully adapt to new microbes and foods.

• This does not mean 90 days of diarrhea, just an adjustment period for the microbiome.

• Sometimes, dogs can get a day or two of gas during this adjustment.

Support During This Time

• Hydration is important. Give your dog:

  • Pure coconut water or

  • Pet-safe bone broth
